Writing for Publication: Research Article Structure

In the workshop "Research Article Structure (namely Introduction and Discussion Sections"), we will talk about principles of effective academic writing, how to make your text flow and what (not) to tell your readers. Although we'll work with previously published texts, you will be asked to apply these strategies to your own research and texts as well. In addition, we will address language and clarity of expression. You will leave the course equipped with effective strategies for writing introductions and discussions.

Timing and place: Friday 20th May, 9.30 - 13.00, Malá aula in Carolinum

Lecturer: Mgr. et Mgr. Martin Sedláček from Center for Academic Writing. Having graduated in English Language and Linguistics and Anglophone Literatures and Cultures, he moved on to studying Japanese at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University.
